Accounting

The Department of Accounting, previously named Department of International Accounting, was established in 1993. Its predecessor was the Accounting Section of the Department of Business Management. The department has 20 faculty members, among whom 15 have doctoral degrees, 7 are professors (6 Ph.D. Advisors), and 4 are associate professors. It offers 2 bachelor programs in financial management and accounting, 1 master program and 1 doctoral program in accounting (with two directions of accounting and financial management), and 1 master program in public accounting (MPAcc). Accounting in the department is the only key discipline in Jiangsu Province.

The department focuses on training high-level talents who are specialized in financial management, accounting and auditing, and other relevant work for various enterprises, accounting firms, public service units, and government entities. The graduates from the department are capable of doing practical or teaching and research work in the fields of financial and investment analysis, project feasibility studies, securities, credit rating, accounting management, independent auditing, and routine financial management of companies. In recent years, the department has cooperated with the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and the Monash University of Australia to jointly set up bachelor and doctoral programs in accounting. It has made a great progress in exploring the modes of training international talents in accounting. The department possesses the Research and Training Center for Finance and Accounting of Jiangsu Province.

Faculty Positions in Accounting
Job Openings 2013-2014

The Department of Accounting of School of Business at Nanjing University is planning to fill up to 3-4 faculty positions in the coming year, to further advance the current group of about 20 full-time faculty members hired in the last several years from renowned universities and build up a top team in China. Ranks and fields are open.

Compensation package includes salary starting from RMB 350,000, and a start up package of RMB 290,000, including research funds, housing allowancees and relocation benefits. Additional compensation is available for extra achievements. For example, the maximum additional pay for assistant professor could be RMB 230,000. For senior positions, we offer highly competitive compensation. Appointees are expected to engage in active research and teaching and must possess a Ph.D. in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline or expect to complete the requirement by July 2013. A prior consideration will be given to accounting and finance disciplines. Candidates with great potential or well-established credentials will be considered.
